Ange&Ris Perform at Bethlehem's Musikfest - August 9th

The esteemed Bethlehem Musikfest 2008 will be hosting Ange&Ris this summer. Bringing together over 300 musicians from around the world, it is perhaps the most coveted festival showcase for Philadelphia musicians. The festival runs from August 1-10. Come up with us Saturday, August 9th for a full day of local and international tunes, and stay to hear Ange&Ris at around 7pm. Details coming.
4th Annual Spark Magazine Summer Series Competition

Ange&Ris have been chosen with about 14 other bands to participate in Delaware's News Journal/Spark Magazine Summer Series. It is a readership voting contest that will feature us in print and online, culminating in a performance at Deep Blue Restaurant in Wilmington, Delaware on Friday, August 15th. We've already filmed a live performance music video and had a fun photo shoot with Spark photographer Jessica for the Summer Series promotion. (Thanks, Tina and Goodwill Chichester Ave, for letting us use your colorful space for our photo session!) We will give more details on the voting procedure when the competition launches at the end of June!
SONGSISTERS BENEFIT MUSIC FESTIVAL AUGUST 16, 2008

This August 16th, Ange&Ris will host the first SongSisters Benefit Music Festival with all proceeds supporting the Delaware County Pregnancy Center in Brookhaven, PA. The event will be a day of music, featuring local, regional, and national female independent artists, open to the Delaware County and Greater Philadelphia community.
As female musicians in a challenging world, Ange&Ris seek to bring other women together in support of DCPC, a wonderful organization that helps women of all ages and backgrounds make difficult decisions and walks with them through the process. It is our goal to raise awareness of this tiny, fledgling safe place for women of Chester/Greater Delaware County making the tough choices involved in their unplanned pregnancies. The SongSisters Benefit Music Festival gathers female independent artists together for a day of music celebrating life, love, and relationships. The event is family-friendly, open to the public and will feature several regionally and nationally recognized artists. LOCATION: Providence Friends Meeting House on Providence Road (Rt. 252) in Media, PA will be the location, within walking distance of downtown Media, the West Philly trolley, and plenty of parking.

ANGE IS FINALIST IN PLOWSHARES SONGWRITING CONTEST

Ange is a finalist in a cutting-edge local songwriting contest!!! Her innovative songs "Earth" and "In the Park" were the winning works (listen to "In the Park"). Come join Ris on Saturday, March 15, to cheer her on in the final solo competition! The eight finalists will compete in a 7:30pm show at Schuylkill Friends Meeting House, Rt. 23 and White Horse Rd., Phoenixville, PA. Tickets are $15. KINGDOM BOUND MUSIC FESTIVAL 2008 TALENT CONTEST

Kingdom Bound is a respected Christian music festival that has been bringing both major and indie musicians to western New York for over 20 years. It is held at the Darien Lake Theme Park and has hosted such musicians as Michael W. Smith and Amy Grant. This year big names such as Dilerious and The News Boys are on the bill.Want to see Ange&Ris perform at Kingdom Bound Music Festival 2008 in Darien Lake, NY? We need your help! Vote for us in the Kingdom Bound Talent Competition (AKA voting competition). Artists with the top 10 most votes will be featured at this year's festival. ANGE&RIS APPEARING AT UPCOMING FESTIVALS

Ange&Ris will be featured at several festivals this season. Already this year, we have performed at the Millenium Music Festival in Harrisburg, PA in February, and the Cape May Singer Songwriter Showcase in March. Next, we will return to the Dewey Beach Music Festival on Friday, April 4th at 8:30pm at The Lighthouse.

BALTIMORE TOUR for A&R

Ange&Ris'S first tour to Baltimore was a sweet success. We had a wonderful time with musician CAMERON BLAKE, Chosei, Miko and friends in this lovely little city. We performed for warm crowds at Baltimore Chop Books & Coffee, thanks to owner Andy pictured above, at a house concert with new Baltimore friends, and at Baltimore's Austin Grill. Thanks to all who hosted, attended, travelled and supported. Thanks for greeting us with sunshine. We'll be back!

Delaware Online has been stepping up their support of local music - and doing a stupendous job! With the help of PUMP AUDIO, they are featuring a monthly local music contest in the genres of INDIE/POP, HARD/ALT ROCK, URBAN and ROOTS. See the widget on their main page.
In September, Ange&Ris entered several songs. Both entries were chosen as Pump Picks, AKA favorites of the Pump Audio listening staff. Final lineup? Ange&Ris came in both first and second place, with In The Park and Newborn, consecutively.
